Dr. Theresa “Terry” Faulkner earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Texas Tech University in 1993. Since that time, she has worked in a variety of rural settings in Wyoming (e.g., a state hospital, a rehabilitation facility, an outpatient mental health facility) prior to gaining the breadth of experience she felt was necessary to open her practice in Buffalo, Wyoming. In 2006, Dr. Terry earned a post-doctoral master’s degree in clinical psychopharmacology, and she uses the knowledge to assist her patients in understanding the psychotropic medications prescribed by their physicians and helps them monitor side-effects and medication effectiveness in between appointments with their physicians. She has a general practice, offering services to people with a wide range of ages and behavioral/emotional struggles. She prefers to work from a depth perspective with individuals wanting to make significant life changes aimed at improving their overall quality of life.
Dr. Geoffrey Sherman earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2007. He was trained as a generalist with adult and geriatric populations across a broad range of outpatient, inpatient, residential, and correctional settings. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) and Division 40 (Neuropsychology) of the APA, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the Wyoming Psychological Association. Dr. Sherman focuses his practice on psychological and neuropsychological evaluations but carries a limited treatment caseload, focusing on psychodynamic--or insight-oriented--psychotherapy with individuals. He strongly believes in the real and lasting change that can result from the process of authentic self-exploration in the context of a safe, therapeutic relationship, and he feels honored when patients share this experience with him.
Abintra welcomes applications from psychologists with a psychodynamic theoretical orientation who have interest in working with children, adolescents, and families. Interested psychologists should send a cover letter and vita to PO Box 1222, Buffalo, WY 82834.
